During season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas. His son, David Zayas Jr., fills in for his father in some scenes, as the two look strikingly similar. Dexter has a large scar on his left side, which is visible throughout the first season. Later in season 2, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side unmarked. The visual contrast between the darkness of Dexter’s secret life and the brightness of Miami adds an almost surreal quality. The character development is spot on, slowly fading into the background so one can see the development of Dexter’s sociopathic personality and his confusion with people’s behavior compared to his own. Dexter is an actor in his own life; her relationships with co-workers and her personal life are well portrayed in the video media. The fact that she is an expert at splattering blood. This is a dark piece of work, but set in the bizarre world of life in Miami, it is almost believable. The developers of this series should also look at the books by Andrew Vachss.
