I loved the book when I read it in the 80s and watched this movie, but I was disappointed
I’m not a purist and usually don’t care about different interpretations of a fictional story, there was no character development, the acting was mediocre, although Alfre Woodard was outstanding, I wish she was shown more as she was the best part of the movie, but even if she wasn’t there, I could&# 39; Suffice it to say, nothing really happened in the story to keep me interested. A little backstory on anyone would have been nice, the sadness of the main characters, anything but the quiet scenes where we’ve got a real glimpse of the budding romance that really helps us feel.
A completely forgettable film unfortunately
Not recommended. One of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month.
