A thrilling journey through the life of Pharrell Williams, told through the lens of LEGO animation. Animal Logic, who animated the previous four theatrical Lego Movies, did not return to do the animation for the film, as it would have been considered a rip-off of Warner Bros., despite Lego and Warner Bros. both sharing the rights to the original franchise. Instead, the animation was done at Pure Imagination Studios in Los Angeles and Zebu Animation Studios in India. Both Pure Imagination and Zebu had previously recreated the style of the original film franchise through theme park attractions, PSAs, and The Simpsons (1989) episode “Brick Like Me (2014)”… The opening credits for Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Tremolo Productions, and the Lego Group’s studio logos are made up of Lego bricks.. A biopic about Pharrell Williams, but made with Lego, awesome and original. But you have to ask yourself who is this made for? Because it’s too boring to be a kids movie and most adults wouldn’t watch it because they would think it’s a kids movie. I watched it in person last night and found myself quite bored, this biopic made with Lego was the only thing that saved this movie, otherwise no one would care except Pharrell Williams super fans. Also, I don’t know how Focus Features has survived all year, they are the only movie company where the theater is consistently empty every time I’ve gone even piece by piece, there were only 5 people in total. The other 2 movies I watched through focus included this year, the hall was completely empty and I was the only person in the audio tour, which is very rare for me to be alone in a movie theater.
