Charles, a retiree, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes an informant in an undercover investigation at a nursing home
Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The documentary ‘The Mole Agent’ is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar across all ages, ethnicities, and genders .’” In our show, we tried to do something similar with the tone: Basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of wanting to call our moms?

A remake of The Mole Agent (2020).
What I expected was a cliché-filled comedy about someone going undercover, his crazy antics, and so on
Instead, we got a series about a man who not only helped others, but also helped himself heal from the loss of his wife.
This great series wasn’t full of cheesy laughs and corny one-liners, I was actually moved during some parts because of the way the topics were handled – like the resident with memory issues
However, it wasn’t all serious that made you feel down or bored as you went through the episodes, it kept the series worth watching because you wanted to see how it unfolded – who stole it, etc.
The cast and acting were great, the cinematography and locations were well done
I really hope they do another season and bring a great mix of laughs, emotions, writing, location and cast like they did in Charles Next, detective style adventures like they did in this one.
