Britain allowed filming in the Foreign Secretary’s office, an honor rarely granted to any film or screen production, especially an American one
Story
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, lands a high-profile job for which she is ill-suited and which has tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced both the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life settings as filming locations for the series, including the still-recent US Embassy (in Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

One missing location was Winfield House, the actual residence of the US ambassador. Although it is accurately described as the largest residential plot in London (11 hectares) besides Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming.
It’s truly original – it hasn’t been done before
As hard to believe as it may seem, this series is also ‘fresh’. Something else significant happens halfway through the first episode, and somehow the creators of this drama managed to convince the creators of the Trailers not to include it – or even hint at it.
The writing is skillful; the plot and dialogue blend together seamlessly
I’m only halfway through the second episode, but I can already tell you that this is unlike any other series or book in the spy/suspense genre. It’s also somewhat refreshing because it’s not dominated by the kind of paranoia that annoys Australians and others.
