A fictional miniseries based on the life of Ayrton Senna da Silva, the Brazilian racing legend who won the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship three times. Kaya Scodelario’s character, Laura Harrison, is fictional. She is based on journalists who covered Ayrton Senna’s career. In addition, Scodelario’s family is Brazilian, from Senna’s home state of São Paulo. The first races of Senna’s career in England are shown on a racetrack next to a mountain range.

There are no mountains in England – especially Norfolk, which is famous for its flat landscape.. Starting this review of the Senna series, I will start by talking about the casting, especially the choice of Gabriel Leone for the role. He is an actor on the rise, and this was undoubtedly the biggest role of his career. I think he will continue to make great films with prominent directors because he has immense talent. Other cast members skillfully brought their characters to life, transporting us to a bygone era with Galvão Bueno’s narration and Xuxa’s golden age.

The production of the series is impeccable and, honestly, Netflix made an excellent decision by investing. everything to ensure that the series was not only a national success, but also an international one. I thought I would watch the making-of and it is sensational-surreal for a Brazilian series. The work on audio capture, the creation of racing cars and costumes identical to those of the time, and the excellent CGI work were all remarkable. I was not born in Senna’s time, but I knew of his importance.
which should not have been included
However, I did not fully understand the extent of his achievements or his story. Watching the series gave me this understanding. Senna’s touching story moves us, from his childhood to his tragic accident. Senna is gone, but his legacy remains and, thanks to this series, he will be etched in the minds of future generations. The only criticism, which did not affect my final rating, but is worth mentioning, concerns some indecent scenes.

The series should have been watched openly with the family and I think this was a mistake. But overall it is a 10/10.
